Technology

  • Second Tests

Quickly measure fat mass, muscle mass, and body water. Auto-calibrated, user – friendly, and non – invasive, testing is fast and easy – just stand on the device and hold the hand electrodes.

  • No Empirical Estimation

No empirical estimation based on age, sex, ethnicity, or body type. Instead, Direct Segmental Multi-Frequency BIA technology measures body segments separately for an accurate analysis based on your unique body.

  • Advanced Outputs

Get essential output for evaluating overall health and wellness. Draw more insights from additional metrics like Visceral Fat Level and Segmental Fat Analysis, track progress, validate programs, and deliver actionable advice backed by trustworthy.

Advantages

BODY FAT-LEAN BODY MASS CONTROL
This section makes it very easy for you to set health and fitness goals and help you achieve the recommended body fat percentage for your sex (15% for men, 23% for women).
Depending on your current Muscle-Fat balance, this Result Sheet output will recommend adjusting Body Fat Mass and/or LBM to reach the target PBF.
If you have too much Body Fat Mass, the InBody will advise losing a certain amount of fat mass and maintaining or increasing LBM. The InBody will never recommend losing LBM.

SEGMENTAL FAT ANALYSIS
You can use this section to track your body composition improvements and changes in body fat over time. While studies have shown that you can’t “spot target” body fat with exercise, you can use this section to get a more detailed account of your progress and stay motivated.

Applications

Body Composition Analysis
This section gives you a solid breakdown of your overall body composition, displaying these vital measurements in (lbs):
Total Body Water (divided into Intracellular and Extracellular Water)
Lean Body Mass
Dry Lean Mass
Body Fat Mass
Weight
Let’s take a closer look at how to interpret this section and use it to determine if you’ve gained muscle or spot fluid imbalances.

Muscle-Fat Analysis
This section shows how your Weight, Skeletal Muscle Mass, and Body Fat Mass compare to the healthy average range of people of the same height and sex. With Muscle-Fat Analysis, you get a better understanding of where your current body composition is so you can make any changes to get it to where you would like it to be.
Muscle-Fat Analysis is a favorite output for many people because it provides an easy-to-understand overview of body composition and helps narrow the focus of health goals.

FAQ's

Why do I have to use a body composition analyzer?
Body composition refers to the components of our body (Water, Fat, Proteins and Minerals) and the summation of these components is our body weight. A body composition analysis means to analyze the amount of these components to: Get an accurate obesity diagnosis and nutrition plan. Evaluate and control fat mass or muscle mass. Evaluate your patient’s health through measuring the increase/ decrease of these body components which may be an indicator health problem. Assessment of the Body Balance for describing suitable exercise/rehabilitation/physical program.
What is the technology used by InBody?
Among many methods of body composition analysis, the one used by the InBody is the Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) that depends on measuring the impedance of the body to an applying micro-currents and then measure the voltage drop. After that the Body water, Fat Free Mass and other body components can be obtained.
Is BIA accurate?
People have been very skeptical about BIA instrument and its results. However, the InBody has overcome the limitations that old BIA equipment with its four unique technologies which are Multi-Frequency, Direct Segmental Analysis, 8-Point Tactile Electrodes and No Use of Empirical Estimation.
What is the difference between InBody and other body composition analyzers? What are the major technical advantages of the InBody compared to conventional BIA devices?
High accuracy which is clinically proved with 99% correlation with DEXA. Direct Segmental Measurement for accurate measurement of the trunk impedance & whole body impedance & mass. Uses Multi-frequency for accurate measurement of body water. No Use of Empirical Estimations Reproducibility due to the use of Eight-Point Tactile Electrodes that guarantee the measurements at a fixed point.
What can I do with InBody? How can I use it in my daily life?
Not only patients who suffer from edema, dialysis, or obesity need InBody. InBody also can be used in other medical fields, and other industries such as sports, academic, nutrition, and much more.
Is BMI enough to diagnose obesity?
The Body Mass Index is one of the well-known old methods to diagnose obesity. It is used to evaluate weight in relation to height. According to BMI, however, athletes or muscular individuals would always be obese due to their heavy muscle. Those sarcopenic (lack of muscle) with a great amount of fat would not be identified as being obese. Therefore, for the true diagnosis of obesity, you need to check percent body fat with the InBody.
What is the difference between InBody models, which one is the best for me?
The InBody series have a variety of functions and provided data. Not everyone needs to use the full function models. It just depends on your needs and usage.
Why I have to use the InBody Tissues before testing? Do socks and shoes really need to be removed?
The InBody Tissues increase electrical conductivity where the hand and feet electrodes make contact with the skin. Without the InBody Tissues, it could be difficult for the electrical currents to penetrate through severe calluses or hard skin on the hands or bottom of the feet. Yes, it is important that the feet are bare and free from any socks, shoes, or stockings that may increase contact resistance of the electrical current penetrating at the contact points
What can affect the accuracy of measurements?
Hydration status which is affected by Sauna, Hot Showers, Exercising, Eating or drinking…etc can affect the accuracy of body water and the whole measurements. But as long as the conditions are kept the same every time, it will give consistent results. Also accessories such as bracelet, necklace and watch may interfere with electrical conductivity.
Are there any types of people who should not use InBody?
People with implanted defibrillators or pacemakers should not use Although a very low electrical signal is applied through the body, it may affect these equipment’s functions. Women during their menstruation will not get accurate results due to subtle changes in their body water.
