How does it work?

Technology

MaxPulse uses two technologies to assess stress level and its effect on overall health and peripheral blood circulation which are:  

HRV (Heart Rate Variability)

HRV is proven as a general health and stress indicator in many published studies. It measures the overall health status & stress level by measuring the function of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) which are affected by emotional or physical stress, fear, anxiety…etc. If someone has chronic stress or highly stressed, the autonomic nervous system function is weakened which increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.

APG (Accelerated Plethysmograph)

 

APG is also proven as an indicator of cardiovascular health and the aging level of blood vessels.

HOW DOES THE MAX PULSE GET ITS RESULTS FROM A FINGER PROBE?

  • Simply, the Max Pulse uses infrared light which is emitted through LEDs in on side of the finger sensor and detected on the other side of the finger sensor. The amount of detected infrared light is used to measure one’s pulse wave.
  • When a heart pulse occurs, the heart pumps and it generates a contour wave that travels along the arterial tree.
  • The wave form is generated from the left ventricular chamber of the heart to the big aorta, and is reflected back when the big aorta bifurcates or divides into two arteries.
  • The Max Pulse then uses pulse-based signal conversion techniques and converts the wave into a digital signal.
  • Max pulse uses two technologies that can break down the digital signal through a variety of statistical analysis, mathematical solutions and algorithms to get different results.
  • Heart Rate variability technology use the Time Domain Analysis (TDA) to measures the RR interval variation in the time domain and also use Frequency Domain Analysis (FDA) to access the frequencies and amplitude of the oscillatory components hidden in the signal. This allow the machine to measure the stress level & assess the Autonomic nervous system.
  • Another technology which is Accelerated Photoplethysmography used to measure the peripheral blood circulation status and compare the patient’s wave form with 7 recorded wave types to determine the aging vascular health.

HOW ACCURATE ARE THE READINGS?

  • The parent company (Medicore) uses the Max Pulse in conjunction with 8 University Research Hospitals in Seoul, Korea. As a result, studies show that the Max Pulse has a ± accuracy of 2% for the measurements it captures.

InBody S10

How does it work?

  • InBodyS10 provides comprehensive body water information such as intracellular water, extracellular water for each body part, total body water, extracellular water ratio to total body water, and history of body water condition.
  • These outputs are used in numerous DIALYSIS CLINIC and nutritional support team of hospitals to provide an upgraded treatment for the patients. InBody S10 is highly preferred for patients in bed.

 

Technology

  • Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) that depends on measuring the impedance of the body to an applying micro-currents and then measure the voltage drop. After that the Body water, Fat Free Mass and other body components can be obtained.
  • InBody overcome the conventional BIA with the following four technologies:

    1. Direct Segmental Measurement (DSM-BIA)
  • It consider the human body as 5 cylinders (Right Arm, Left Arm, Trunk, Right Leg, and Left Leg) which are different in width & length & measure the impedance of each part separately & accurately.
  • This also allow accurate measurement of the trunk impedance which very small and any small change/error in its measurement will affect its measured mass & the whole body mass.
    2. Multi-frequency Electric Currents

    4. No Use of Empirical Estimation

  • InBody S10 uses only the impedance rather than relying on empirical estimations which are based on the averages of statistical data such as age or gender..etc.
